Next time for sure. Its a "U" bolt with a piece of Green Angle iron. The "U" bolt has two nuts on each leg, big nuts are oversized and are simply spacers. Take nuts off, put "U" bolt around gear leg as close as you can get it to the brake caliper mount. Put the legs of the "U" bolts through the holes in the angle iron. Tighten it down Good. The take the car jack and slip it under the angle iron, jack up the angle iron and gear. If you are going to have the wheel off a while I would put a block of wood under the axle. Car jack is beside the storage cabinet. Remember you will have to disassembly your brake caliper - otherwise the rotor will keep you from pulling the wheel off after you remove the axle nut. I have heard of this breaking the engine case. Note: this ring is to lift the engine only! The pipe engages the plastic buttons that Van's sells that thread into the wing tie downs. Have used it several times. Works great. Have also tried the gear leg clamp that Van sells but it requires removal of the gear leg fairing and damaged the paint on the gear leg. In fact, I'm surprised we didn't settle on an organized destination for today. I spent most of the day doing carpentry in the hangar (new door going in someday), but managed a sunset flight with my 3y.o. niece. Dean Meylor came up looking for me last weekend, but we managed to miss each other (did I outrun you, Dean ? ;-) We could inaugurate a Dean Meylor 400k Run in his honor: fly to Stormy's for the afternoon and hope you catch him - a confirmed sighting is worth lots of points or something. Seriously, I'll be bumming around all day after worship, so anyone so inclined can come over or suggest another destination of choice. Wx not lookiing good yet for next weekend; I trust it will change by then. -Stormy
