Was that Randy U. you are referring to?

Sounds like he is making some good progress!

They're calling for 1 knot winds and clear skies at MTV tomorrow. Even the
taildragger pilots can probably handle that, if it's not a direct crosswind ;-)

I may have to make this one; I'm plumb out of excuses, thanks to Cappy's
      geography lesson.

Will you still be there by 1:30? I may be a tad late.

Wish I could come, Cappy. But, just got back from a 17.3 hour 2500+ mile
trip to and around Texas and am "flown out". What a trip - on one leg
headwinds had ground speed down to 115 MPH and on another tailwinds had
speed up to 220 MPH - quite a difference. Made it from Dallas to San
Antonio in 1 hour 10 minutes, could have made it a bit quicker, but had to
detour around you-know-whose Texas ranch {:>) - what a blast.

Had to take off from a grass strip after a hard all night rain on one
occasion and it was like being on skis. Wheels would not roll, just slid on
the soggy turf, but fortunately the old rudder maintained controlled. Had
the stick back in my lap for take off to unload the nose wheel and
acceleration was a bit slower than normal - to say the least. About the
time I was considering aborting and trying later, hit a bump and found
myself airborne in slow flight. But, of course, once the wheels were off
the ground the aircraft accelerate in typical RV fashion and off we went.

So hope to catch up with the gang next weekend
