I purchased and tested a textured black vinyl but it still has a bit of a reflective finish. Another considerations is aging of the vinyl vs the paint. Have not flown at night yet so can't comment on that but testing in my dark hangar with the map lights etc indicated no problems. I think I made the right decision to not use the vinyl.
