--> RVSouthEast-List message posted by: "Larry Bowen" <Larry@BowenAero.com> FYI do not archive ------------------------------------------------------------------- AOPA ePilot Special Airspace Bulletin June 30, 2006 ------------------------------------------------------------------- A special notice to AOPA members in the east-central North Carolina area ==> ATTENTION PILOTS <= FAA TO ESTABLISH TFR OVER FORT BRAGG ON TUESDAY AOPA is sending this message to advise pilots in and near Fort Bragg, North Carolina, that the FAA has issued a notam restricting flight in the area during President Bush's planned visit on Tuesday, July 4. There will be a large 30-nautical-mile-radius temporary flight restriction (TFR) centered on the FAY VOR's 328-degree radial at 11 miles, extending up to Flight Level 180. It will be in effect from 8:50 a.m. local until 1:05 p.m. local on Tuesday. Also, there will be a smaller 10-nm-radius GA no-fly zone in effect within the larger TFR during that timeframe. See AOPA Online for the full text of the notam along with a graphical depiction ( http://www.aopa.org/whatsnew/notams.html#6/1503 ). The affected landing facilities are Fayetteville Regional/Grannis Field (FAY), P. K. Airpark (5W4), Grays Creek (2GC), Moore County (SOP), Harnett County (HRJ), Laurinburg-Maxton (MEB), and Sanford-Lee County Regional (TTA). Because TFR airspace frequently changes, AOPA strongly encourages pilots to obtain a briefing and CHECK NOTAMS before every flight. TFR violators will be intercepted and forced to land. ==> HELPFUL WEB LINKS <= AOPA's Real-Time Flight Planner provides graphical depictions of TFRs ( http://www.aopa.org/flight_planner/ ). Check the FAA's TFR Web site ( http://tfr.faa.gov ).
