Rather than risk another typo, I'll refer you to AirNav.com for the GPS coordinates. Time: Arrivals start at 10 am. Earlier if you want, but we're often IFR until 9 due to daily ground fog/haze. Lunch served at Noon. Tubing trip lasting ~ 90 minutes starting at 1:30. Menu: BBQ, sides, chips, sodas, cookies all provided at no charge. Added dishes welcome but not expected. Bring something to share if you wish. Tubing: river levels are going to be PERFECT this time. We've recently tested the water for you ;-) I have about 10 tubes here, and many have stubborn leaks that I'm having difficulty patching 100%. I suggest that if you have tubes, bring them (uninflated). Size 10.00-20 is recommended. WX outlook: there will be the occasional isolated TSTM to look out for, but overall it's looking good. A nice high pressure should be in place for the weekend. Radio comm: I will monitor 122.85 here on the ground, and suggest that everyone use that enroute to aid in traffic awareness. Arrival flow: please use left traffic into runway 32, landing uphill and probably upwind. Overheads or standard patterns both work well. COMMUNICATE your intentions on 122.85. Remember there's another turf strip parallel to Hop-Along and 1/2 mile north. Mine's the one where you can see the runway and the grey 2-story house at the same time, very close to each other. Ask for vectors if in doubt; hopefully somebody will hear you. Runway condition: green :-) and should be dry and well-groomed by Saturday (too rainy to mow so far this week). I think that covers it. Contact me via email or cell 540-969-6466 with questions. No need to RSVP as we're counting on 20 planes and should have plenty of everything (except inner tubes) as it stands. Still, if you want to announce that you're coming, that's always fun to read, for me at least. See you Saturday! -Stormy ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 08:41:57 AM PST US From: "Steve Glasgow" Subject: Re: RVSouthEast-List: Stormy's latest NOTAM Cappy and Randy will be there at 10 AM. ----- Original Message ----- From: sportav8r@aol.com To: rvsoutheast-list@matronics.com ; Mid-AtlRVwing@yahoogroups.com Sent: Thursday, July 06, 2006 11:10 AM Subject: RVSouthEast-List: Stormy's latest NOTAM I've been asked to re-post my NOTAM, so here it is, short, sweet, and without all the humor: Location: Hop-Along Airport, identifier 12VA. The wiring is straightforward for the non-engine functions. Finding a place for the magnetometer is a pain.
