Most excellent day shaping up here... the haze is burning off and we're VFR now.
Forecast is a balmy 81F and light winds, low storm chance, great river level,
no TFR's of any impact. The grass is green and mowed and the fly-in is ON!
Pack your tubes and lawn chairs if you've got room. I'll have a handheld tuned
to 122.85 from here on out; see ya soon!
-Stormy

Hi Stormy.
there should be three RVs coming from the greensboro area ,are you using
122.9 or 122.85 for com?
we should be there around two PM if the chapter 8 meeting at MTV does not
last too long.

Stormy You put on quite a spread. 82degree weather, tall water and
short grass. Terry and I had the day of the summer. Ron Shreck asked
me while tubing what the poor people were doing today, my answer was
tubing down the river smoking a cigar, but they did not arrive in a
rocket ship.
Thank you again

Thanks to all who dropped in and made our day so rich and full. It could hardly
have been better if I had gotten to do any flying myself ;-)
Looking forward to the next get-together (will that be Ocracoke in September?)
No OSH for me this year, but getting in a week at the beach about 8 days from
now. Kiawah Island Resort: good; driving instead of flying: bad. Friends in
the RV community: priceless!
Missed you bigtime, Len and Donna ("Leggs" and "Balls" to some of you). You did
the right thing to stand down and rethink the mission.
We presented Larry Bowen with his little dashboard mascott; he's officially "Wizard"
now. Larry, with your new callsign and all, you need to start attending
formation practice regularly. And doing rolls. With smoke - it's the law ;-)
Ron - thanks for letting me drool on your panel. Wayne - I'll fwd my power distribution
schematic to you soon.
Now that you've all seen how close we are to you by RV, I expect to see you dropping
by more often. We're home-bodies and usually here. The welcome mat is
always out.
-Stormy

Many, many thanks to the Boyd's and all their helpers. It was a great
day: great friends, great lunch, great tubing on the river, great
airplanes. Life is good.

Stormy:
Glad the day went well. Wish we could have been there. Appreciate the
phone calls ... all is well with the plane ... I am just flying without
wheelpants now ...
I have ordered new tires (again) ... this time I will not go with the
retreads .. go back to the Flight Custom IIIs ... got about 350 hours on the last
ones ....
I will pick up a new wheelpant at Vans this week ... that's right pick up ..
heading out to Portland and Seattle for the week. Timing is everything !!!
Hope to get it on and painted before Oshkosh !!
Len

Not any better than 6.5 I went to later The controller chastised me for
changing alt's without telling him I am supposed to fly VFR and my altitude
is at my descression. I was unaware he controlled above 5200 according to
the chart. Apparently my chart is out of date or his authority reached
lofty heights today.
What a day.
