Anyone missing a pair of TEVA's (black with brown patterned straps)? We are in
possession of an extra pair after the fly-in yesterday. Claim 'em and they'll
be mailed to you tomorrow :-)

The control comes from the fact that you asked for flight following. In
their eyes you are treated very much like an IFR flight. Now because
they are treating you like IFR you should tell them when you change
altitude or cancel the flight following and then you can do whatever you
want.

Not any better than 6.5 I went to later The controller chastised me
for
changing alt's without telling him I am supposed to fly VFR and my
altitude
is at my descression. I was unaware he controlled above 5200
according to
the chart. Apparently my chart is out of date or his authority
reached
lofty heights today.
What a day.

OOps! I left them on the porch in the sun to dry. Are they dry yet?
Don't bother mailing them. Now I have an excuse to come back. That's
better than a $100 hamburger anyway.

Stormy, you hit a home run. Thanks for sharing your home (and runway). What
a great time! I really enjoyed seeing everyone and meeting some new friends.

Eyeball,
Mudfoot and I discussed your Saturday work dilemma while on the river ;-)
We concluded it was just too bad, what with you being able to find time to build
an RV-10 and all, but couldn't find time to get away with friends for a day.
Actually, we felt so sorry for you that the idea of a Sunday venue next year is
in the hat now. Either that or a make-up date late in the summer (same event,
smaller scale?) to fall on a Sunday afternoon to accomodate the sizable number
of RVers who wanted to be there but for one reason or another couldn't pull
it off. Len "Wheels of Fire" Leggette, for example.
However, my social calendar for the summer is densely packed at the moment... 2
kids headed to college in August. (I should set up a website for financial aid
donations.) Possible open Sundays are 7/30 and 8/6. River water levels are
impossible to predict, but often dip too low for tubing by later in the summer
dog days. The scenery is almost as pretty in crunchy brown as it is in green,
but it would be hard to top a day like the climate we had yesterday - Wow!
I'd be interested to hear the level of interest in that, so I'll post this to both
local RV forums and see what shakes out.

Absolutely awesome scenery. Looks like a great RV destination.
How about making it a Sunday next year?

This is getting to be PAINFUL!!! :-)
I was all set for the earlier date but "stuff happened". :-{ <Real
Bummer :-( >
Then the new date fell on our Chapter Seminar on Metalworking (drilling,
deburring, dimpling, rivetting etc) and I was the lead speaker.
(Over a dozen Van's toolkits hammered away at.)
Then up comes wonderful weather, a large gathering of great people and
PICTURES to show it all!
Seriously, glad to hear all had such a wonderful time.
Any chance of another one this year (after Oshkosh)? :-) :-)

Hmmmmmmm ...
Fried Alternator and Tad's name mentioned in the same paragraph.
Sounds suspicious to me. Me thinks maybe Tad should be kept away from
alternators as it seems "he be jinxed"! :-)
Glad to hear all is well Bill and thanks to the guys that help make it
happen.
