The control comes from the fact that you asked for flight following. In their eyes you are treated very much like an IFR flight. Now because they are treating you like IFR you should tell them when you change altitude or cancel the flight following and then you can do whatever you want. I was unaware he controlled above 5200 according to the chart. Apparently my chart is out of date or his authority reached lofty heights today. What a day. Actually, we felt so sorry for you that the idea of a Sunday venue next year is in the hat now. Either that or a make-up date late in the summer (same event, smaller scale?) to fall on a Sunday afternoon to accomodate the sizable number of RVers who wanted to be there but for one reason or another couldn't pull it off. Len "Wheels of Fire" Leggette, for example. However, my social calendar for the summer is densely packed at the moment... 2 kids headed to college in August. (I should set up a website for financial aid donations.) Possible open Sundays are 7/30 and 8/6. River water levels are impossible to predict, but often dip too low for tubing by later in the summer dog days. The scenery is almost as pretty in crunchy brown as it is in green, but it would be hard to top a day like the climate we had yesterday - Wow! I'd be interested to hear the level of interest in that, so I'll post this to both local RV forums and see what shakes out. -Stormy -----Original Message----- Sent: Sun, 9 Jul 2006 12:29:11 -0400 Absolutely awesome scenery. Looks like a great RV destination. How about making it a Sunday next year?
