Stripes told me that Checkaway was now charging for his weather service. He
wants $50 per year. Personally I think this is way too much. I sent him an
e-mail suggesting same and stated I could go for $25 per year. Maybe if
enough of us complain he will reduce the price. It is worth a try. Send
him an e-mail.
Log share may be next. So if you are using it you might want to export your
log book periodically or at least print it.

Agree, and I also sent Dan an email. I know he put a lot of effort into
this product and I used it extensively when I took my trip to the west
coast, but all the information is available elsewhere on the web. He
has made it simple to get it all in one place in a great format, so he
deserves some compensation for his time. I just think $50 is a bit
much.

It would be a fun challenge, but at this point I don't have a plan. There
just aren't enough hours in the day.
Another way to think of the new fees -- I'm paying $50/MONTH for XM weather.
Weathermister cost's only 8% of that! A bargin!

Yesterday, I proceeded with rotating my tires since I did not have the
new tubes and tires on hand and had to do something now or wait a month
or so.
Found something that is baffling me. On the inboard side of each wheel,
I found two spots of something between the bead of the tire and the
wheel. It appeared to be waxy on the surface but was hard and
tenaciously stock to the wheel. Upon removal I found that it had pitted
the rim of both aluminum wheels. Does not appeared to have affected
the tire .
Could this be brake fluid that got into the bead area when I did the
brake fluid fill? Can not think of what else it could be. Don't remember
what I used to lubricate the tire and tube when I installed the tires
several years ago.
Any thoughts??

the tires and tubes instead of rotating. If rotated, how much more time
(or landings) in relation to the original mounting should I get out of
the tires?
When I do replace the tires, I think I will 'bite the bullet'
and go with the the Michelin Airstop tubes. Should I go with the Airstop
tubes even if I rotate?
Would like comments/experience on which brand/model tire has
given the best service on the trike tapered rod landing gear mains,
please.

Dear Listers (Specifically Comcast Listers),
For about the last two days, Comcast was blocking incoming email from the Matronics
Email Lists because their spam filters thought the mail was spam. I was
able to finally get them to lift the block about 3pm PST 10/29/2006 and it appears
that people on Comcast are receiving List messages again.
If you are a Comcast user, you might want to email them and express your displeasure
with their Spam blocking policy, particularly as it relates to "matronics.com".

Hi All -
I'm brand new to the southeast rv list. I'm a private pilot in Raleigh, and I've
been casually shopping for an airplane for several months. One of the folks
from a nearby EAA chapter suggested that I look into used RVs as a possibility.
From what I've read online, they look like great airplanes, but I've never
actually been in one. All my time is in garden-variety 172s and pa28s.
So, I thought I'd brazenly ask one of you folks for a ride in exchange for
some 100LL and maybe post-flight beer(s). (I'd probably be most interested
in the 6s, 7s, and 9s since I'm not likely to buy a tandem airplane, but I'd of
course be happy hear from anyone....)

the triad area. It so happens that I spend a lot of time in Winston-Salem,
so it would be pretty easy to meet up with anyone near either Raleigh or Winston.
