Subject: RVSouthEast-List: N941WR flies!
Hey Gang,
I just wanted to let you know that my RV-9 flew its maiden flight this
morning.
Tad flew wing w/ Radomir riding shotgun. Dale provided great insight
and was a big help when one of my P-mags decided to retime itself and
attempt to destroy my engine on the 2nd flight. After we set the timing
back to where it belonged, the third flight was uneventful.
Everyone hears how slow a -9 can fly but I was mesmerized by the
airspeed indicator sitting just above 40 mph when it stalled with full
flaps.
All three landings were done with an approach speed of 65 mph and I
think I might be able to work it down to 60 after I get some more time
in this thing. That long, flat bottom wing really doesn't want to stop
flying.
I'm exhausted and need a shower but the best way to see the pictures
and read more about it is from this thread Radomir started on the VAF
forum:

Thanks everyone for the help! It really does take a village to build
and RV. (Before you say it Tad, I wasn't saying a village of idiots.)

Nothing unusual about this OSH report:
Challenging weather - CHECK.
Incredibly generous pilots help along the way - CHECK.
Finally home, ragged & behind schedule - CHECK.
Can't wait until next year to do it again - CHECK.
I had similar battles with the weather. That's the price I paid for
great weather going up. :)

here is my "story". Go get a cup of coffee. :-)

You guys in the Ohio Valley already know this and I have known it

In my previous life as an electronics engineer, I used a small rechargeable
on which also had a light on it and temperature control tips for different
applications. It is just perfect for our applications. I can't remember
the manufacturer or supplier, but I'll find out tomorrow. I'm planning on
purchasing one myself.
Cheers,
