Dale, It creates a new clip each time you start and stop. When you scroll thorou gh the clips it shows you a photo of the start of the clip so you can tell at a glance the contents of each segment. you can touch it and it will sta rt playing the segment followed by the next segment in sequence. You can f ast forward/rewind/skip segments just like in a DVD player. Ofcourse once you download to your computer you can do all sorts of stuff t o it. Like editing, merging etc. From: densing@carolina.rr.comTo: rvsoutheast-list@matronics.comSubject: Re: RVSouthEast-List: vdeo recordingDate: Sun, 19 Aug 2007 20:25:23 -0400 Ravi, How difficult is it to find a particular segment of video in 20 hours of re cording? Changing miniDV's and dvd's i s a pain in the butt not to mention dvd's take a long time to finalise. I have a Sony with a 30 GB hard drive and it can hold 20 hours worth of reco rdings. It is quick on and off, has great zoom, great video quality also t akes great pictures and sound quality is great for a cheap camcorder.(About $300)Sony DCR-SR40 now replaced by DCR-SR42. st-list@matronics.comSubject: Re: RVSouthEast-List: vdeo recordingIt's hard to buy a "bad" camcorder these day. Camcorders with hard drives have drop protection, this shuts off the recording easily in turbulence. My JVC has both hard drive and SD card, I select the SD card for recording in the plane AND I have to turn off the drop protection. If I don=92t turn off the drop protection it will stop recording with the smallest bump, even though the hard drive is not in use. When downloading the SD card to your computer when not in the camera use of a USB converter speeds the upload by about 400 percent. Happy recording, Dale _____ From: owner-rvsoutheast-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-rvsoutheast-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Ravi Thakkar Sent: Monday, August 20, 2007 8:40 AM Subject: [Norton AntiSpam] RE: RVSouthEast-List: vdeo recording Dale, It creates a new clip each time you start and stop.
