      Bret,

I'm a little biased since I paid extra, in terms of money and time, to
install it. That said, yes, it is VERY solid, ergonomically
comfortable, works very smooth, etc. The two lever TQ (I don't know
about the three lever) from DJM Manufacturing like I have works out
great. It clears the radio stack as located by my Affordable Panels
panel. I really like where I located the flap switch (to the right of
the TQ) and the carb heat (to the left of the quadrant) because on a
go-around I can push the carb heat in with my thumb, move the throttle
up with the palm of my hand, and toggle the flaps up with my index
finger all in one move. Here's a good picture of what I'm talking
      about: http://www.repucci.com/bill/panel/hand%20on%20throttle.jpg. As a
piper driver, you would really like this setup.

BTW, I have over 30 hours on the -9 and am heading to the airport today.
With luck I will finish all my testing between today and tomorrow. I
never realized how exhausting doing five hours of take-off's and lands
could be. There is not much left on my test cards. Gotta run, those
      hours don't fly themselves off.

      Bill

      Hey Bill,

How are you liking the throttle quadrant? Is it pretty solid? Is the
      location installed ergonomically comfortable?

      Melinda,

Here is a link to how I attached my throttle quadrant:
http://www.repucci.com/bill/instruments.html. Scroll down and you will
how I did it. Needless to say, the three level quadrant is a little
      wider than my two lever.

If you are going to set your -7 up for IFR, I highly recommend going
with the Affordable Panel's panel, like I did.
      (http://www.affordablepanels.com/index1.htm) This will make future
      maintenance (and upgrades) much easier.

      Bill

I flew 6.1 hours today and I can't even begin to imagine how you sat in
your -8 long enough to hit every public use airport in NC!

The good news is I only have 3.8 hours left of Phase I and then I can
give Nora a ride. With luck, the weather will hold out and I finish
Phase 1 on Monday and give Nora that ride in the afternoon.

Wow! How many laps around your circle was that? Congrats on finishing up
      the phase 1.

      Bill,

Thanks! That was very informative. I really liked seeing the pictures. I
think I may use the quadrant as well.
