Ron and Steve: Thanks for the input. Mine has 10:1 pistons (I'm told) but I don't think it's ever been on a dyno, or if it has, I didn't get the paperwork on it when I bought the airplane. 16.9 gph is supposed to be good for 180 hp but mine is acting lean at that flow rate. I don't know what FI system I have, so the obvious answer is for me to get under the hood this weekend and find out. I was hoping there was an easy "one size fits all" answer, I guess! I really would like to climb at full power and I just can't do it with this engine. I cruises smooth and cool (I spent a couple of weeks sealing the interior baffles and re-angling the front ramps), but on climbout it gets hot fast if I leave it on full romp. I have to pull it back to 25/25 or lower and climb at low angles and at speeds above 130 to keep it cool in a climb. Lee...
