The FAA described the plane as experimental with the engine in the back of

A spokesperson at the Statesville airport said it appears the plane took off
and a piece of canopy that covers the aircraft got tangled in the propeller.
There was no distress call.

This is a very unusual request for an extraordinary group!
I have a patient who has a Juggling act as a career. He has performed
on the Johnny Carson show and much more. He needs a ride,3 people and
210lbs of gear, from High Point NC to Orland FL after a show(departing
midnight around Feb 1-3.). He has investigated chartering but I
thought I'd throw it out there for any commercial pilots who'd like a
midnight run all in the name of show biz!! There would be
compensation. Please Email me off list with interest or leads....
Thanks in advance,

Larry,
The company I fly for does some charter work. Call Ed Coffman at Orion
Aviation, 1-800-831-8208. We fly Cessna Skymasters. Three passengers
plus baggage and a cruise speed of 155 knots. If that will work for you
I'm sure Ed can set it up.

I'll forward to the guy. I don't know either of them, but I thought he
would have more luck posting to a group on the east coast rather than
SoCal. Hope it works out for them......

It is a Cozy. If you look at the pictures, you will see both wings have
ripped off, the canopy is gone, the engine is laying there but the
exhaust is on and the stacks are pointing towards the spinner.
The current theory is the canopy came open, departed the airframe, and
went through the prop. Bummer! BTW, the canopy on these things swing
to the side, like an RV-4.

Interesting request but I don't think you can offer rides for hire in
our experimental aircraft.
Ron's comment about hiring the 337 is a good idea for this guy.
