      Hi George,

If you can work something out with the Orndorff's for a weekend seminar I
think your members will find very rewarding.

Back in 1995/96 when George & Becki lived in MD I attended one of their
weekend work shops where we build the basic control surface and George
answered every question a new-bee could ask or think of. Their work shop
gave me the confidence to get started building my RV8 and I can honestly say
it was the best investment I could have made.

      Good Luck

on sheet metal work or other subjects? We have an EAA chapter in eastern NC
and interested on a weekend seminar for our members?

I just called the BBQ and unfortunately they will be closed on New Years
Day. Bummer! Anyone interested in another time, keep it on your short
list. Carthage is 5NC3. It is a private field, but open to the public
without calling. The CTAF is 122.9. Runway 13/31 is over 2500 feet, 36
      feet wide. Coords: 35-20.500000N / 079-26.216667W

All info is on AirNav except CTAF 122.9. Phone for BBQ is 910-947-7591.
They are open every day of the week but short hours on Sunday. Call for the
times. Restaurant is on SW side of runway at mid-field. Park on the grass
next to the car parking lot.

      Now, who has another suggestion?

| Subject: | SERV Annual New Year's Day Fly-In |

To all SERV members, non-members, GIB's, hangers-on, and anyone else
      interested in something besides football on New Year's Day;

Lacking a suitable commercial venue for the third annual SERV New Year's
Day Fly-In we have settled on Gold Hill Airpark (NC25) and Ron "Smokey"
Schreck's hangar. Check out airport details on AirNav:

      http://airnav.com/airport/NC25

Landing on runway 27 is preferred, wind permitting. Runway 09/27 is
3000 x 30 foot paved. Schreck's place is at the far southeast side of
the airpark. Exit the runway just west of the large brown hangar on the
south side of the runway (follow the "SERV" signs) and turn east on the
parallel street. Monitor 122.8 for parking assistance. Park at the
last house on the right either in the grass or around the cul-de-sac.

Food will be served from noon to 2 PM. Arrive as early as you like and
stick around for a RV formation demonstration and mini airshow!

Burgers, dogs and drinks will be provided. If you can manage to bring a
salad or desert or chips we would be most appreciative.

Please RSVP with your email address so the food committee (Reno Red) can
      coordinate the eats.

      See you there,

SERVNYDBCC (Southeast RV Squadron New Year's Day Bash Coordinating
      Committee)

      do not archive

To all SERV members, non-members, GIB's, hangers-on, and anyone else
      interested in something besides football on New  Year's Day;

Lacking a suitable commercial venue for the third annual SERV New Year's Day
Fly-In we have settled on Gold Hill Airpark (NC25) and Ron "Smokey"
Schreck's hangar. Check out airport details on AirNav:

      _http://airnav.com/airport/NC25_ (http://airnav.com/airport/NC25)

Landing on runway 27 is preferred, wind permitting. Runway 09/27 is 3000 x
30 foot paved. Schreck's place is at the far southeast side of the airpark.

Exit the runway just west of the large brown hangar on the south side of the
runway (follow the "SERV" signs) and turn east on the parallel street.
Monitor 122.8 for parking assistance. Park at the last house on the right either

in the grass or around the cul-de-sac.

      Are you there, Mr. Mayor?

To all SERV members, non-members, GIB's, hangers-on, and anyone else
      interested in something besides football on New Year's Day;

Lacking a suitable commercial venue for the third annual SERV New
Year's Day Fly-In we have settled on Gold Hill Airpark (NC25) and Ron
"Smokey" Schreck's hangar.

Arrive as early as you like
and stick around for a RV formation demonstration and mini airshow!

Burgers, dogs and drinks will be provided. If you can manage to
bring a salad or desert or chips we would be most appreciative.

Please RSVP with your email address so the food committee (Reno Red)
      can coordinate the eats.

          See you there,

SERVNYDBCC (Southeast RV Squadron New Year's Day Bash Coordinating
      Committee)

To all SERV members, non-members, GIB's, hangers-on, and anyone else
      interested in something besides football on New Year's Day;

Lacking a suitable commercial venue for the third annual SERV New Year's
Day Fly-In we have settled on Gold Hill Airpark (NC25) and Ron "Smokey"
Schreck's hangar. Check out airport details on AirNav:

FWIW, Miriam says she's IN. Guess that means I will have to fly her
there, so I might as well come along, too.

Maybe we can get a Wayne-8A appearance before he moves to Georgia next
month. Are you there, Mr. Mayor?
