Subject: RVSouthEast-List: Richmond, Madison I39 Kickoff Flyin Postponed

Seems I have a Catch 22 with the scheduled i39 Richmond, Madison
Kickoff  Flyin this Saturday. The weather is predicted to be in the
mid 40's, or  higher, with VFR for most of the east coast. However, I
went to the airport  last night to find off ramp parking just too soft.
We have had  rain/snow/ice/We have haWe have had  rain/snow/ice/<WB
predicted  Friday. If I were to not disclose the off ramp parking, I
am certain we would  approach the magic 100 RV numbers, based on my
private emails. However, we  would also have a parking problem. I
wouldn't want my airplane parking on  some of the grassy areas. Much
of it is fine, some simply is not acceptable  to me.

With this in mind, I am postponing the Richmond, Madison i39  Kickoff
Flyin. Hold tight and let me find us a good weekend. Door prizes  in
hand, just waiting on the weather.

Hi:

To any one familiar with the Control vision ", Exp2Bus" unit.

I think I have a wire connected wrong  and that is the problem..
the instruction manual says, connect "tab" J10 , direct to
master selenoid...but for the life of me cannot see it..I see J16, P10
if some one show me, would be appreciated...
I see of course the Mastrer switch, which is wired by the company
and see the small nut, for ground,,but whjere is J10?????

Bert

The J10 pad is located on the printed circuit board between SW1 for the 
master switch and SW2 for the voltage regulator/alternator. It is a "pad" on 
the printed circuit board not a "tab". You must use a screw and nut to make 
this connection.

If you are using a remote switch you can connect the wire from the external 
master solenoid directly to SW1 instead of J10. Run a second wire from SW1 
to the remote mounted switch  which is connected to terminal #5 'Aircraft 
ground'. When the master switch is ON, this connects the ground side of the 
master relay to aircraft ground and pulls in the master relay.

Since you are using a external master solenoid, did you remove (by pass) the 
internal circuit board mounted relay?

The manual (page 7 and page 10 in my manual) says "If the external master 
solenoid is  to be used, the square pads of the relay K1, located near the 
battery connector should be connected together using a short piece of at 
least #12 solid wire. These should be soldered with a high wattage soldering 
iron. Having both the  relay and the solenoid in circuit would work fine, 
however, two elements is series is not wise from a reliability point of 
view."
