I 'used' to recommend Nation Air as well. I probably (regretfully) sent a couple dozen RV folks to them. They were GREAT...right up until I had a claim due to an engine out off airport landing. They finally paid off but when I wanted to insure another RV they MORE THAN DOUBLED my premium for the same hull value and blamed the rate increase on the claim and AIG when asked why the HUGE increase. I told them 'no thank you' and called Mac at AUA. After telling Mac about the claim and Nation Air.....AUA (Mac) provided me with the same hull value for the same premium I was paying before the accident......through AIG. Hmmm...go figure. There's more to the story but if I told the rest you'd think I was just here to put down Nation Air....I'm not....just sharing a couple of facts...you can make up your own mind. The short of it is that they were super as long as I was paying my premium....when I needed them the most they weren't my friends anymore. I would NEVER recommend Nation Air again. Subject: Race to Ridgeland, 3 May, 2008
    From: lee.logan@gulfstream.com
Everyone: Just a reminder that the "Race to Ridgeland" at the Ridgeland, SC (3J1) Airport is coming up in two weeks on May 3rd. Please see our website at www.racetoridgeland.com for details. The "Race" will be just one of the highlights of a great flying day which will also include trophies for the Spot Landing Contest (won last year by a Navy pilot in a CJ-6; go figure!), lot's of formation flying, a Globe Swift "gathering", radio control aircraft for kids young and old, "church lady" food and beverages, hats and T-shirts, a vintage aircraft "parade", a new Mooney Acclaim demonstrator on display, and much more. In addition, David Allen of the Allen Groupe has kindly donated two "aircraft detailing kits" which will be given away as the "Commissioner's Choice" for whichever aircraft he likes the best, or for whatever he decides! Anyway, we are hoping that the Southeast Squadron will be well represented. Check out the race: You just fly to Ridgeland, hit the start/finish line (as detailed in the rules on the website), fly the course and stop your stopwatch as you cross the finish line back at Ridgeland at the end of the race (approx. 125nm later). Trophies for "Fastest Overall" and for the first three places on "handicap". Again, the details are on the website. Hope to see you all there! Lee...

Just a suggestion for those posting announcements of their fly-in breakfasts, poker runs, races, etc. Please include a general description of where your event is being held, such as what state you're in and what major city you're next to. Garry, As Lee mentioned in the first sentence, Ridgeland is in SC (South Carolina). You can get more information on AirNav.com. (A really great site for trip planning.) Good comment. Ridgeland is in southeastern South Carolina. Not *too far* from Charleston. This is a wonderful event that Lee and the gang put on. More later.
