Cappy,
Below is Garry's post. It seems he has experienced the same problem I and a few
others have when trying to post to the lists. All my messages come up blank.
If you click on "View Source" you can then see the message. I can email anyone,
anywhere, anytime, except the Matronics email lists. I can, however, go
to the web version of the lists (as I am doing now) and post messages just fine.
I've noticed this happens to people on BellSouth, ATT, and ComCast. I've
emailed Matt twice over the past month or so asking for input but have gotten
no reply...

If there is a fly-in at Stag Park, it must be May. EAA Chapter 297 is holding their
Spring Fly-in/Pig Pickin' on May 10th. You are all invited to share the fun
and ...............you decide.

White House: No user fees, no signature
By AOPA ePublishing staff
As the Senate began debate on the FAA funding bill in a spirit of bipartisan
cooperation, that same spirit apparently didn=99t extend to the White
House.
The president=99s top advisors made it very clear on April 29 that if
Congress sends him a bill that does not include user fees, and does not give
the airlines greater control over the air traffic control system, they want
him to veto the FAA funding legislation.
The White House once again cited its failed FAA funding bill as the model, a
nd said the legislation currently under consideration by Congress does not a
lign =9CFAA=99s revenues with its costs through fair fees linked
to usage of the system,=9D nor does it include =9Ca broader set
of aviation stakeholders in the oversight and management=9D of the ai
r traffic control system. (Administration proposals would give the majority
users of air traffic control=94the airlines=94also majority say
in ATC management.)
The =9CStatement of Administration Policy=9D also objected to in
creased Airport Improvement Program funding and took issue with the labor pr
ovisions in the House version of the FAA funding bill. =9CIf the Presi
dent is presented with a bill that not only excludes the critical reforms pr
oposed by the Administration, but also includes provisions that would furthe
r exacerbate an untenable status quo, his senior advisors would recommend th
at he veto it,=9D according to the policy.
=9CWe=99re extremely disappointed that the administration contin
ues clinging to discredited funding concepts that have no popular support fr
om either the public or their elected representatives,=9D said AOPA Pr
esident Phil Boyer. =9CThe aviation industry and both parties in Congr
ess are very close to reasonable compromises that ensure the future of the a
viation system. For the administration to put that all at risk at this point
is incomprehensible.=9D
The Senate is expected to finish its version of an FAA funding bill this wee
k. The House version was passed last September. Existing aviation taxes and
FAA funding will expire June 30 if a new funding bill is not signed into law
before then.
