On June 14 & 15, there will be the Festival of Flight fly-in at
Suffolk, Va. (SFQ). I will be having a Van's Aircraft tent there with
my RV-8 out front. Hoping that we have a big RV turnout.
The event coordinator, Judy Sparks, has offered the RV community an
area to rally all the RVs in attendence. Just have a sign that says RV
in your windscreen so the parking guys know you want to go to that area.
If I could ask everyone who might attend to reply to this post, I'd
certainly appreciate it. Judy wants to know approximately how many
could be there so they can plan the space needed.
As a sidebar, just want everyone to know that Van's Aircraft has
expanded to the east coast. I am that expansion. I now work for Van's
Aircraft as their East Coast representative. I presently have an RV-12
under construction that will be used as a factory demonstrator. It
won't be flying until sometime this fall, but once it is, I'll be
visiting local EAA chapters for presntations and demo flights. The
airplane will be based at St. Mary's Airport, Md. (2W6) where I will
also give demos. So spread the word.
Looking forward to seeing old RV frinds and making new ones.

Sorry most of you haven't rcvd blogs...SERV has lmt on size and rejected last two.
This one has no pix so it will get thru. Here's a recap of past 2 days. Monday,
day of rest, sort of...we are all tired after 14 hrs. in the air last 3
days. Most went to Sedona for day and had great time.. the pix will be awesome
when i can send them. Tuesday was really a hoot. Smokey, Don and Dale flew up
to Meteor Crater/Lake powell/Monument Valley and took amazing pix. They got down
on the deck and weaved around the 400-500' monuments. and down Lake Powell
on the deck...After lunch at Page, Az, they headed over the East side of the
Canyon. Heading home they circled Sedona and Smokey did a buzz job on the golf
course at Seven Canyons, a super exclusive resort North of town where Randy &
Reno just happened to be playing...There was considerable excitement on the ground
when Smokey smoked the course 300' off the deck and WAY below the canyon
walls. R & R
were hitting approach shots to 14th green and couldn't get to cameras in time to
memorialize this thrill.Upon return to base, we gathered for pizza and review
pix and stories. Today we are resting. Smokey & Kathy are visiting son and g'
kids including the original 'Miss Izzie'. will send pix later if SERV can handle

I'll try this one more time.
Just a reminder.
On June 21st there will be a breakfast and lunch fly-in at Lancaster, SC
(LKR) airport hosted by the EAA chapters from Salisbury, NC, Rock Hill, SC,
Columbia, SC, Hickory, NC, and Charlotte, NC.
For those of you who wish to fly in on Friday night and camp out, you are
more than welcome to do so. However, showers will not be available.
There will be no awards, vendors, fees (other than meals), or controllers to
deal with. However, there will be plenty of airplanes to see and fellow
wing nuts to talk with.
Please pass this along to anyone who might be interested, including your EAA
chapter.
