Len: My brother used to live in St. Louis so I went there a few times, flying into KSUS, mainly because it was convenient to him. It is your standard "business" GA airport. Not the cheapest, though cheaper than KSTL, but has all the services. ST. Louis has several business GA airports though (the class Ds on the chart). Airnav would give you fuel prices. The AOPA directory tells you about rental car availability. You usually have to go to one of these business GA airports to get rental cars on site. Paul D. Len, on the west side of town, try Million Air at KSUS. They have their own rental cars and the rates are cheaper than normal guys (Hertz, etc.). On the east side across the river, go to Ideal Air at KCPS. Both choices are very friendly and professional. If any of you would like to test your navigational skills, this is a great way to do it. Last year's event was won by a guy in a 152 with his eight-year-old daughter acting as navigator. They even beat two members of this list who teamed up in a hot RV and then couldn't find one of the check points. If you would like to try your hand at turning off your GPS, contact John Wigney or Sam Stewart (email addresses below). Smokey ----- Original Message ----- From: Bill Repucci To: rvsoutheast-list@matronics.com Sent: Monday, July 14, 2008 3:39 PM Subject: RVSouthEast-List: FW: EAA 309 Dead Reckoning Competition, 8.16.08 If any of you would like to test your navigational skills, this is a great way to do it. They have their own rental cars and the rates are cheaper than normal guys (Hertz, etc.). On the east side across the river, go to Ideal Air at KCPS. Both choices are very friendly and professional. ?
