I'm looking for help for a relative trying to get from the Columbia,
SC area to St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands within the next week. One
adult, three kids, and one black lab. The airlines aren't working out
for them because of the dog, so they are looking at freelance or charter
type options. Max budget is $6000. Any creative ideas or leads would
      be appreciated.

Lots of options. (Note: I lived and operated a 135 helicopter charter
operation in STT) Surprised Delta won't take the dog on their daily non-stop
from Atlanta to STT. There aren't any animal restrictions going to STT.
How about going to San Juan, then do Cape Air or Seaborne (twin otter on
floats) to STT. Or drive from San Juan to Fajardo then charter a boat to
STT , it's only 25 miles or so. Or take the Ferry (4 or 5 time a day) from
Fajardo to Culebreta for $2.00 per person then take a charter boat, (10
miles). Or fly to San Juan and charter a helicopter to get there. Or
charter it from Culebreta, it's only a 15 minute flight to STT via
      helicopter.

      Steve
