A couple of years ago I implemented an automatic "squelch button" of sorts for
the Fund Raiser messages. Here's how it works... As soon as a List member makes
      a
Contribution through the Matronics Fund Raiser web site, he or she will instantly
cease to receive these Fund Raiser messages for the rest of the month! Its
just that simple. Don't you wish PBS worked that way! :-)

I really do appreciate each and every one of your individual Contributions to support
the Lists. It is your support that enables me to upgrade the hardware
      and
software that are required to run a List Site like this. It also goes to pay for
the commercial-grade Internet connection and to pay the huge electric bill
      to
keep the computer gear running and the air conditioner powered on. I run all of
the Matronics Email List and Forums sites here locally which allows me to
control and monitor every aspect of the system for the utmost in reliably and performance.

Your personal Contribution matters because, when combined with other Listers such
as yourself, it pays the bills to keep this site up and running. I accept
exactly ZERO advertising dollars for the Matronics Lists sites. I can't stand
the pop-up ads and all other commercials that are so prevalent on the Internet
these days and I particularly don't want to have it on my Email List sites.

If you appreciate the ad-free, grass-roots, down-home feel of the Matronics Email
Lists, please make a Contribution to keep it that way!!

Stan you seem so sure of what is correct aviation judgment. To
castigate a fellow airman when you could not have possibly known what he
perceived at the time of an incident is unfair. I learned a long time
ago not to criticize other pilots when it comes to their judgment.

Believe what you what, but don=92t be so quick to openly judge others
      without all the information.

          Stan,

While never having flown a fighter or even been in the armed
      services, I
think the F-15 pilot did a commendable job of saving a major asset
      for a
small country with a small air force.

If he were in the US, I would agree 100% that he should have bailed
      out, but
flying for the Israeli air force is a different thing. Similar to
      the
stories we heard regarding the AVG and that saving even a small part
      of a
plane was a big deal because that gave them the ability to salvage
      much
          needed parts.

The real question comes down to is this, which asset is more
      valuable, the
pilot or the plane parts? In the US we view the pilot as the bigger
      asset
but that equation may not be the same for a small country.

          Bill

Some have expressed interest in flying to the Monroe Air Show.

Visitors can fly to EQY for the air show this week end. But, the runway
will be closed from12:00 noon to 5:00pm each day. You should plan to get
there well before noon. Parking for aircraft will be crowded. So it will
probably be first in, last out.

It will be NOTAMEDed as closed, but there will be an "Air Boss" on the field
and the UNICOM will give you his frequency and he will clear traffic for
arrivals and departures in-between the times that the Air Show Performers
      are practicing

If you have questions, the FBO number is 704-226-2300
