Subject: | Fund Raiser Lagging Last Year By Over 30%... |
As of the 13th, the Fund Raiser is currently about 30% behind last year in terms
of the number of Contributions. Yet, oddly the number of messages posted per
day is up by 10 to 20% on the average. It costs real money to run these Lists
and they are supported 100% though your Contributions during the Fund Raiser.
Won't you please take a minute right now to make your Contribution to keep
these Lists up and running?

There is a paint shop in Griffin, GA that painted some RV's that I am
familiar with. They do outstanding work and have a very good reputation in
the Atlanta area. They were chosen to paint the last AOPA give-a-way. They
charge about $7000, last I heard. I can't remember their name but I'm sure
a call to the Griffin airport could get the name and number.

Though I'm several months away for my -4, I'm also checking out a paint
shop in Sylvania, Ga: Southeastern Aircraft Painting - 912-857-5726,
they have done a couple of RV's, on my first visit they were working on
a couple of Cessnas - in the spriping phase, looked busy with lots of
people working. Also I'm going to check out some guy in Tuscaloosa that
is supposed to be good - did Mark Phillips' award winning 6A.

I think the guy in Tuscaloosa may be Bobby Potts. IIRC he uses a base coat/
clear coat system which I did not want to use.

I unfortunately used a guy in Elmore AL "Tri-D" to paint my 7A. He was
great up until he got my plane in his shop. Also I would try to find a
shop close enough that you can check on the project often and see what
is being done or not done. Get 8 or 10 recomendations and if any of
them is less than great find someone else!!

I've heard about a paint shop at Jackson Co.=2C GA (19A) from one of the ol
d time AI's at my airport. He has worked with them on several planes and s
eems to be happy. He's currently got two Navions in line to be painted wit
h them. I'm not sure of their name or if they are familiar with experiment
als=2C but I was planning on checking them out. I've also heard that they
are not too backed up with business lately. I suppose this could be a bad
sign=2C but I'm still planning on checking them out.
Has anyone heard of this shop?
