Subject: | Space Shuttle Launch Viewing |
I went to a shuttle launch last year. I watched it from Titusville at the
North end of the strip. That is the closest public area. You can see the
launch pad which is nice. You can get a ticket and watch it from the NASA
causeway - that is best but it is hard to get tickets (check NASA"s KFC web
site).
It was surprisingly easy. I arrived 20 minutes before the launch (I had
business in Orlando). I walked 5 minutes to the water front. Watched the
launch, walked back to my car and drove back to Orlando. I had more
traffic delays in Orlando than in Titusville.
I considered flying down and watching it from the air but the TFR is huge -
goes out to Orlando. In any case, hearing it is part of the experience.

Any suggestions on the best place to watch a space shuttle launch?
Titusville, Cocoa Beach? How is the auto traffic after the launch?
Thanks,

Does anyone have experience with using E-MAG Electronic Ignitions?
Would you use one with normal mag on other side or use a pair?
I would use them on on IO-360 200HP

John,
I'm running dual P-mags on my O-290 and love the things!
As I'm sure you know, they had some software and hardware issues early on
but they seem to have resolved those problems. In 230+ hours mine have not
missed a beat.
Easy starting (Below 200 RPM they put out five sparks each time they fire),
vacuum advance, easy to install, and they just work. In addition, I'm
running auto plugs which cost me $16.45 for a full set of eight. Every
hundred hours I pull them out, inspect them, and replace them. The truth
is, even with my low compression engine, there is never any led balls on
them and I could just as easily put them back in but since they are so
inexpensive, I would just as soon replace them.
In an effort for full disclosure, Ed Anderson and I are developing a control
head for them. See our web site for details and let me know if you any
questions, www.eicommander.com.
Regards,
Bill
