Well he taxied into a trailer someone left is his way the cowl is
toast as is the prop engine etc

Let's see...
Low trailer, left in the taxiway, on the other side of a small hill, tail
dragger, polls lined taxiway with no way to S-turn, UNICOM said to take
Bravo taxiway. KERPOW! Right on the snout. My outty is now an inny.
Almost everything forward of the firewall is damaged (Prop, engine,
accessories, engine mount, alternator, FAB, etc.) but no skins are wrinkled,
not even the firewall. Of course that may change before the day is over
tomorrow.
I learned a few things:
1) Insurance companies are a real pain in the butt! Had my 496 been
included in the empty weight and the insurance company totaled the airplane,
I would have to give them the GPS because of the AirGizmo. You can bet I
will document it is not included when I reweigh it after the repairs.
2) Saber recommends replacing the prop extension because there is no way to
verify it is airworthy after a prop strike/sudden stoppage.
3) All accessories have to be overhauled and/or replaced.
4) The carb needs to be overhauled and if the carb body is damaged, they
don't think they can find one.
5) All taxi accidents are the pilot's fault, regardless of the
circumstances.
6) Taking an airplane apart for transport is a real bummer and is very time
consuming.
ETA for my next first flight is unknown.
