Bill,Excellent point about checking out the engine. =C2-Seems I did not p
lan well here. =C2-I called Superior (now back in business somewhat) and
talked to a service rep. we informed me that my engine would require signif
icant modifications to be made suitable for a constant speed prop. =C2-Wh
en I heard the words, "split the case" I pretty much gave up on the idea.
=C2-Anyway, thanks to everyone for their input. =C2-I'll be sticking wi
th my reliable fixed pitch prop.

Craig, =C2-The first thing you need to determine is if your O-360 is suit
able for a CS prop.=C2- A number of them were built with solid cranks.
=C2-As for the weight of your Sensenich prop, Aircraft Spruce lists the
=9CApproximate Shipping Weight 40 LBS=9D. =C2-Your W&B issue
may be a result of the location of the battery.=C2- Some -8 builders put
them behind the passenger and others=C2- put=C2- it on the firewall.
=C2-Best of luck with your switch. =C2-Bill =C2-From: owner-rvsouthea

Subject: RVSouthEast-List: Fixed pitch to constant speed =C2-I have a RV8
A with an O-360 and fixed pitch Sensenich prop. =C2-I am considering chan
ging to a constant speed prop, but I am concerned about the added weight on
the nose of the plane. =C2-My plane is on the nose heavy side as it is,
and I would not like to make it any more so. =C2-I am looking at the Whir
lwind RV series. =C2-Does anyone out there know how the installed weight
of a Whirlwind prop compares to the fixed pitch Sensenich? =C2-The Whirlw
ind prop and spinner weigh in at about 38# according to the folks at Whirlw
ind. =C2-I was hoping to find out the weight of the Sensenich installatio
n without pulling my prop. =C2-Thanks, =C2-Craig GallenbachEastover, NC
