And I fly an ASW-24E from Vancouver, WA. You might try the
rec.aviation.soaring list, it is kind of known as "the list". You can use
Google Groups to view it at...

Are there any sailplane lists for builders? I've built powered aircraft and
am considering a sailplane for my next project. Any builders on this list,
or suggestions for designs I should be looking at?

Well, there actually is someone out there. Thanks for the replies.
I am fairly new to gliding.Started 33 years ago but then bought a Stinson
108-3.
Now no medical. I am working toward my private glider--getting the rust out. I
would like to continue with the possible purchase of a used-but-good
2-seater. I have a lady friend who does para-sailingbut would prefer her
inside! I have noticed the IS-28b2 and also ASK-21. Both have certain
attributes I believe would suit my requirements.
Would anyone care to comment on these and perhaps other 2-seaters?
Thanks.

Arthur,
Two seaters require lots of friends. You'll need someone to ride with
(preferably pretty) and several to help retrieve occasionally.
Buy beer, make friends, get a good trailer.
My favorite is the Grob 103. A reasonably priced two seater just doesn't
get much better than this.

John,
There used to be a "Sailplane Homebuilders Association", a spin off was the
"Impoverished Homebuilders Association". See what google says about these.
If you want a good glider, build a Woodstock, they'll put a 1-26 to shame.
I'm not a fan of Marske's designs but to be fair I'd not suggest the Maupin
Windrose either.
If you want to build a composite ship, you're a bit out of luck right now.
I'd suggest rebuilding a 70's -80's fast glass machine. Plenty of work to
do and you can find them cheap if you look.
