I am looking for plans to find a way to secure my glider on a flat bed
trailer. I saw a nice version in a magazine that actually unloaded from the
front. The system had a channel on top of the tongue in which the assembled
glider rolled down the front with a small 2 foot ramp located at the hitch.
Obviously the trailer was not attached to the vehicle.
I was curious how to construct a wing saddle and the attachment point at the
root. I don't know the best way to secure a glider to the flat bed either.
I'm really looking for proven designs and nothing too creative.
Any thoughts?

Hi Vaughan;
Sounds like you have a glider and a ready made flatbed trailer and are
looking for fittings to load the first onto the second.
Best advice would be to look over a commercially made glider trailer and
copy as much of the design of the fittings as you need to do the job. I
don't like to oversimplify but this is not "rocket science"; what you need
is a welder/machine shop guy who can cut up and weld steel tube to your
taste.
A google search turns up a fair number of glider trailer references with
useful pictures. Here are two for starters:

http://www.mindspring.com/~hennulat/komet.htm
The Komet trailers are well recognized as a good design.
Good luck and happy soaring.
