The attached spread sheet contains a simplified version of the formula on the Stinson site. This one just multiplies wing loading, power loading and float loading times a constant. The two Rans examples look pretty good in that they are close to my actual numbers. The 170 number is also pretty close. The original formula gave me a time of 5 or six seconds which is way off. If you play with different weights this one seems to work. Not sure if variations in hp work as well. Since I'll also be trying two more sets of floats on this plane the affect of buoyancy will also be stest.
