So I have a possable solution.
On the new 2004 Dodge diesel pickups they don't use glow plugs for cold starts.
They instead use a wire grid inside the
airbox that is electrically heated. Assuming there is an electrical system on
the plane this would be an acceptable
method to warm the air in the carb. AND it would solve another problem of using
unfiltered air when the carb heat is on
like the CESSNAS used.

What kind of engine is in it? It can never hurt to have it but some
engines don't need it.
