I have the engine mostly assembled and I will be putting it back in the plane in the next week or so. Am looking forward to seeing how it runs. So on our Stratus we just turn the dial on the light to 32 deg and adjust the dist so the red line on the block & the white dot on the pulley are aligned. Supposedly this will set the engine at 32 deg (at 4,000 RPM). At least that's how I think it's to be done. Now if I can only borrow one of these fancy lights from a local car buff. I don't really want to go out & spend $100 on something I HOPE to rarely use. Here's a link to a cheap one in the JCW collection. http://www.jcwhitney.com/product.jhtml?CATID=437408&BQ=jcw2 Kelly (STILL waiting for my new dist!) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bill Morelli" Subject: Re: Fw: Stratus-List: Setting Timing > --> Stratus-List message posted by: Bill Morelli > > What is an adjustable advance timing light? > > BIll
