      Hi List,
Kinda quiet on the Stratus list, so it seemed
appropriate to mention that I've made another
beading tool for 1" - .049 wall tubing. It could have
been made for any size, but that's what I used to plumb
from the radiator to the firewall. The commercial beader design
went to 3/4", but was simple enough to copy at the larger
size and try it out. I've always worried that flares would
eventually cut the rubber hose, so the motivation to try
this method. It works great and the bead is as large as
the flare without the concern for a sharp edge.
Pictures and data are on the site if you're interested.
The beader is easy if you have access to a lathe and drill press.

      Regards,
      Larry McFarland @ www.macsmachine.com
