Hi Jim,
Your address was bad, I tried to contact you a while ago. Glad you made
it here.
There were 2-3 thin AN6 washers (the small ones, not the fender washers,
and they were the -L) I could check, but it may have been about 3 grams?
Nope, not much weight at all. It's an SAE1 pattern. I think I'm going to
try to do better than the .04 because I still feel a vibration but I will
wait until I re-do my cowling just to make sure there are no side effects
from that..
I checked on-line for dynamic prop balancing and found the company that
makes the balancing equipment (I'll find it and forward it). They told me
who could do it in my area. Even the guy in the next state over said he'd
fly in and do it for me. Turns out, my local A&P has one a finally did it
for me.
Jim - are you planning on going to Sun'N'Fun this year? Anyone else?
Gary

close to the center of rotation I wouldn't expect that much effect. How
many washers did you add?

I've been running a Stratu since 1998. I'm also one of the early ones to
have some of the known problems.

Gary,
Thank you for the compliment.
The conventional radiator furnished by Zenith is a VW Rabbit radiator
that's approx 1" x 13" x 22". The ZAC cowl does permit air to wash the
front surface
of the oil pan, but I don't know how effective that is. It must cool
though, because
there are a lot of Subaru-601s flying to date.
You've got the right idea, NSI has a radiator similiar to what you describe
and it
seems to work real well on the 601.
