Frank,
Where are your EGT's? (before or after the bend, how far from heads). Do
you have anyone else's EA-81 EGT;s t compare to with sensors in the same
spot?
How did you set your mixture - plug color? I never checked mine and Ron
didn't think I needed to make any changes so I left it alone.

I would definatly check your plug colour...simply from the fact mine was
miles out, but that was after installing bigger valves.
The EGTs are after the bend.
What you need to do for a quick check is to tie you airplane down and run it
up to cruise (and that is defined as between 1/4 and 3/4 throttle) for 30
seconds or so...Watch the cooling!...Cut the engine WITHOUT closing the
throttle and pull the plugs...If they are stark white the misture is too
weak. There should be a white/tan colour. You can fine tune your mixture by
raising the needles. If you get to the top position and still need more you
have to upsize the nedle jet.
Get back in and do the same thing at full power to check the main jets.
It's a hassle but burnt valves are much MORE hassle....:)
