--> Stratus-List message posted by: Phil Raker <phadr1@yahoo.com> Hello, Larry, Good information!, both on engine performance and airframe performance. Thank you. What are you using for CHT sensors? Plug seat rings? Remember that as airspeed increases, the radiator should also cool more. The increased cooling should (hopefully) balance the increased heat output at higher RPM. We're waiting eagerly for more performance data of all kinds on your very nice bird. Thanks, again. Phil Raker N556P HDS/Stratus ~85% completed < I waited approximately < 15 minutes for ground control to clear me to the runway from the hangars, < so I pointed the plane's radiator into the breeze and waited. The RPMs were < keptdown and temps never exceeded 219 CHT and 1100 EGT. < < The EIS was set for 230 EGT and 1400 CHT. < < The 2 EGT temps were within 20 degrees of each other < and EGT on high taxi approached but never reached 1200-degrees F. Coolant < topped out at 189-degrees F. __________________________________ http://promotions.yahoo.com/new_mail

--> Stratus-List message posted by: "Larry McFarland" <larrymc@qconline.com> Phil, I've CHT Ring Thermcouples on the rear plugs, EGT sensors in the top of the exhaust pipe 3-1/2" aft of the exhaust outlet. The EIS is Grand Rapids Technologies Inc Model 2000 and their sensors and the best dollar spent so far on the plane.
