--> Stratus-List message posted by: "gary" <FlyinK@Efortress.com> glad it's an easy job, i cringed when you said you had to move it. i know you put a lot of work into that, it came out great. maybe exhaust augmented output to draw air thru? that would be tought to do though. good luck, let us know how it goes. gary ----- Original Message ----- From: "Larry McFarland" <larrymc@qconline.com> Subject: Stratus-List: radiator cooling > --> Stratus-List message posted by: "Larry McFarland" <larrymc@qconline.com> > > Hi guys, > Well, there's little discussion of radiator postion > and its affect on cooling lately, so here's an update. --> Stratus-List message posted by: "Larry McFarland" <larrymc@qconline.com> Gary, The NSI radiator, on a 601 is a double row, double deep, wider design that permits air-flow to go straight thru easily. There is one in Florida that has the radiator positioned mid wing on the belly and it works well. I contemplated using the design, but wanted to first try out the intake and louvers for cooling on the standard Rabbit design. I may move my radiator further back later to prove/disprove the position issue. I do intend to fly this with and without the special intake to get "mother natures" opinion on this and then will fly another earlier "scoop" design that I did to get a feel for what it does. How far back would be "trailing edge"? Leading edge of the rad at trailing edge of the wing? Trailing edge of rad at trailing edge of the wing? Somewhere in between?
