HELP! I have a gremlin.
Just out of the blue, I can't get over 3000 RPM. I hadn't flown it in about
3 months, but it was just fine when I parked it.
I've changed the Facet fuel pump, put in fresh plugs, and I always put a
splash of Sta-bil in my mogas just in case it does sit up for a while. It cranks
and idles good. The carbs have a fresh overhaul from last fall, and they've
been synch'd to a gnat's ass. Fuel filters are clean.
I let the temps come up, and give it the throttle......it reaches 2800-3000
RPM and starts stumbling. Anyone seen this before?

Danny,
Sounds like a fuel starvation problem to me. Have you checked the floats to
make sure they are not sticking?
Possibly try disconnecting the fuel line hoses at the carbs and flip on the
pumps to verify you have good fuel flow up to the carbs.

Danny,
If this happens on both ignitions, I'd take the filters and the finger
strainers out
and flush out the gas and start over. If that doesn't work, try changing
out plugs.

You say you haven't flown your plane in 3 months. Check the air filter to
see if something got into it that would explain your not getting full power.
The intake air flow may have been restricted.
