Frank,
Couple of things with regard to alternators on our Soobs
1 - What is a one wire alternator? We have three leads (1 to battery, 1 to ignition
(through lamp) and one to starter solenoid). Does a one wire just eliminate
the one from the ignition?
2 - I was always curious about the note in the Stratus manual that says " Lamp
must be installed" referring to the light tied to +12 v and the "L" lead of the
alternator. In the text it also says "NOTE: If you do not connect this to a
light, your alternator will fail" - Does that mean if my 12 volt light fails,
the alternator will fail also???
3 - Another Stratus owner sent me a number for the alternator that he used to replace
a failed one. He used an AC Delco model 321-1079 which fits a 1985 Suzuki
Samurai but the picture I found on the web of that alternator does not look
like my alternator.
Thanks,
Bill
