Once again, the Tailwind does us proud with an article on Bill Haskell's "Lightwind", a very lightweight version of the W-8. Also, there's a half page cutaway drawing of the Wittman W-8 and a short article on the landing gear stiffeners with a pic of one of Jim Clement's W-10s. A letter the prez sent along with the magazine encourages groups "such as the Tailwind enthusiasts" to participate in putting on forums at the SAA flying, a reference to our forum at the first annual SAA gathering at Urbana IL this year past. In Paul's letter he asks for material for the magazine. Would some member of the group who is building a Tailwind care to send some pics (35mm or digital on a floppy preferred) and a write-up on your project? We want to keep the Tailwind out in front! Send to: Attn: Paul Poberezny Sport Aviation Association POB 2343 Oshkosh, WI 54903-2343 May you always have a Tailwind! This is the best home builder's magazine out there by far. It seems there is a special connection between the SAA and the Tailwind. Lots of history to explain that, but I think Rick's efforts writing for To Fly and supporting the SAA have had a lot to do with it too.
