I have the stab in the top hole of the plate now and will just have to see what happens when I test fly. The Stab tube is welded against the bottom of the top longeron so I should be OK there. Thanks again for the help. The measurement ahead of the strut might not be a good comparision as it has the boot cowl wrapped around the longeron. On some of my other TWs it seems the stab was about 1/2 degree down on the front. It's a uncomfortable feeling when the airplane wants to pitch over when the stick is let loose. Without the wheelpants it will for sure. Maybe Malcolm could check his. I'll also check with Bob and Russ when I see them. I bolted the engine to the dynafocal ring and aligned it with the fuselage for proper offset. I then tacked in tubes to the 4 corners and had temporary braces on the nose gear socket. Then I removed the engine so I could tack in the rest of the tubes. The mistake I made was thinking it would be easier to put the 2 tubes in my way instead of Jim's way. The second mistake was not testing the engine fit before hard welding the whole thing. 20/20 hindsight is incredible. Thanks so much for all the great advice you share with us all. I removed the old heat boxes from N320WT and installed the new boxes you and Weaver provided pictures of. I flew in 28 deg weather last weekend and had a very warm comfortable cockpit. Man these boxes really work!!!Its as warm as my car!!! Thanks again and Happy New Year. For what it's worth I'll tell you how I set it on N6PJ. Load the aircraft the way you will fly it most of the time and fly it at cruise without any trim. If it doesn't fly level then change the setting. I found that under these conditions if a little power is added, the nose will rise slightly. If power is reduced slightly, the nose will drop slightly. Worked for me.
