All the RV'ers have at least two lists per model, can't let them upstage
us!!
I realize it helps to have a computer (not a mac) that is more compatible
with other lists ;

Case is still restless.

Jim, Thanks for the tip. Two urethane companies' tech advisors stongly advised
me to use their proprietary urethane primers. The TrueValue man said nobody ever
asked for the urethane primer before. He can special order it for $35. If
I am not going to glue the acrylic in, I may just use the same structural epoxy
I used on the aluminum flaps and ailerons. I already have it, Aeropoxy ES 6279
Structural Adhesive. Eric

Jim, When bonding the aluminum door skins to aluminum door frames, I think I remember
you have said you use auto glass urethane adhesive.
Do you use urethane adhesive primer first or just the adhesive as is?
Also, do you also use it to glue in the acrylic?

Eric, use the Aeropoxy. A auto glass shop should have the urethane primer for about
$10.00 if needed. Jim C

American Tailwinder builders take note on how fortunate you are to be able to build
your aircraft as you now can.

The worst example of government control can be seen at today's Aero News Network. Go to: http://aero-news.net/index.cfm?ContentBlockIDc64fe8d9-88cf-44bd-95bd-e6a6dde1fc96& and take a look at what happened to a poor Vietnamese farmer who built a helicopter.

If I put together a builders manual, it would be like the blind leading the
blind. Whoever puts this together should have built at least one Tailwind.

Dave,
I've been doing this same thing for quite a while for my own personal use, so
when I get to a particular phase of building the plane, I can refer to the
file and see what questions and answers were published on the internet groups.
So far, I have 83 file topics. Some files are quite large, like the WING file
has 33 pages. I spend WAY too much time on this computer !!

For myself I have gathered a photo archive and keep them all with other
emails I feel are important. They come in handy. You guys try to
compare what we are doing with Tailwinds to what the RV guys have.
Remember they have a factory behind them. We do this with our witt.
That makes a big difference. My feeling would be that anyone that wants
to build a Tailwind has these two news groups along with the yahoo
photo archive. I have been working on my Tailwind for 15 months, it is
very simple to build and everything I want to know is available on the
web or from one of the Sr. builders. (Thanks Jim C.) I don't know what
a manual could have done for me that the newsgroups haven't already
done.
P.S. I put the glass cloth on one side of one wing #1 tonight. It
worked out very well. used 7 oz of resin. Dave Conrad
