--> Tailwind-List message posted by: "William Bernard" <billbernard@worldnet.att.net> In the 'for whatit's worth' category, several years ago at OSH, I stopped by a booth selling high tech sound deadening material. When I told the guy that the Tailwind was fabric covered, his response was "don't bother" with sound deadening. Only slightly off this thread, I wonder what our European members are doing about noise, especially from the exhaust? --> Tailwind-List message posted by: "Robert Ardis" <ardis_rb@hotmail.com> I have used ample sound deadening in my W-8--both above, below and around the cabin area. I have also used thicker windshield and side windows as well as good door seals. I have no db numbers but seems to be an improvement. >From: "William Bernard" <billbernard@worldnet.att.net> >Reply-To: tailwind-list@matronics.com >To: <tailwind-list@matronics.com> >Subject: Re: Tailwind-List: Cabin noise >Date: Sat, 8 May 2004 06:22:11 -0500 > >--> Tailwind-List message posted by: "William Bernard" ><billbernard@worldnet.att.net> > >In the 'for whatit's worth' category, several years ago at OSH, I stopped >by >a booth selling high tech sound deadening material. --> Tailwind-List message posted by: "Fred Weaver" <Mytyweav@earthlink.net> Yeah Bob! I have to say however that Red was over here at Westover last week and I had an opportunity to listen to his plane as he departed. What a nice sound.. The exhaust was still very audible but didn't have that "bark" that's so typical of the 4 cylinder Lycomings. His fairings and trim are on now and they look great too.. Once he gets a good prop on it, I think he's really going to scoot.
