This item will be one of our future problems since here in Switzerland we
have very strict rules about noise in GA. For us the problem won't be the
cabin noise but the noise measured outside. The first thing we will try is
certainly the swiss muffler described by Bingelis. But we are not yet there.

We don't particualrly have noise regulations that apply to us -yet- but
exhaust noise is still a concern. The classic case is folks moving near an
airport and then complaining about the noise! The fact that the airport was
there first is generally irrelevant to the defense.
Please keep us posted as to your progress in this area.

Hi Bob,
Out west there are lots of places to go, that even a Tailwind does not get
to in two hours. Baraboo is one. And if I get much deafer Marilyn will trade
me in for a newer and better equipped model. So, I care about how much noise
is making me deafer. And yes, I have, and have had for years, noise
cancelling head sets. And, when I fly the Tailwind, I wear foam earplugs
under the headsets.
That is why I am working on noise attenuation. It is OK with me if no one
else wants to have a less noisy Tailwind. Just in case someone else might
care about it, I share some of the info.
