I'm proud to announce that the new cowling for the
W-10 Tailwind is now available. I completed the mold
construction a few weeks ago and have the top cowl
mold up thru polish. The bottom mold will be polished
next week. Today I removed the first top cowling from
the mold and pictures are attached. The cowling
consists of polyester gel coat, 4 layers of mil spec
C-282 carbon fiber with CoreMat reinforcement in the
flat areas of the cowl. The bottom half will have a
joggled flange to match the top half of the cowl.
Total weight is less than half the weight of a
fiberglass cowl. The current price is $800 plus
shipping.
