As you can see, we used 1/2" plexiglass on top. The glass slides down on the screws and will not move the gussets out of place. This is important as we are not using nails or staples. It is easy to tighten each wing nut down the same pressure on all bolts. We also place a 2" piece of rib out in the middle with an extra gussett on it to have a test break for each rib. Yes each rib and test piece is getting a serial #. With this type of jig, I can build a rib and glue up the back of the rib from the day before in about 20 minutes. In building 6 wings, there were 9,384 gussets to glue, and that is not counting the 1/4 x 1/2 rib pieces. But with three identical jigs, the job went in about 2 months. Oh yeah, we cut all the rib pieces and gussets before we started (see the bin made out of vinly fence post covers available at your local builders supply). One very important thing to remember is to sand the whole sheet of plywood before it is cut up into tiny gussets. This will save your fingerprints.
