Jerry, you and Joy have done a great job with the Tailwind Times. If I have
any rebate
coming--use it to get the rotary going. I have two to make into one when
time permits.

Everybody,
It is time for me to accept reality. Tailwind Times subscription renewals are
down nearly 60 percent. I put this down to the extraordinary usefulness and
immediacy of the internet. It is a much better tool for communication than a
paper newsletter published four times a year.
The paper newsletter, expensive, labor intensive, slow, and with limited room
for content, is a dinosaur in this age of instant communication.
>From a personal stand point, I hate to see the Tailwind Times come to an end.
I did not accomplish my personal goal of covering every aspect of TW construction.
But we did cover a lot and we filled a need for good information before
the internet became the efficient medium it now is. The Tailwind Times was
published quarterly for four years with a little delay while we moved, a total
of sixteen issues.
Joy will miss putting out the newsletter. She took pride and pleasure in making
a beautiful magazine.
We have some funds on hand that came from recent subscriptions. They will be
returned as soon as possible. I am committed to clearing the books and mailing
back all the refunds this year. I will mail about 25 checks each month. Please
be patient,
See you on the internet, Jerry

Jerry:
Now you have me worried that might not sent you a renewal and might be part
of the low resubscribe rate......Thank you and Joy for your efforts, the
Tailwind Times has been one of the major selling points for the proliferation of
the
design.
I think a summary or printing of all the back issues into one Tailwind Manual
would be a consistent seller for years to come. Or better yet as Josh has
recommended organized into a builders manual.
Look forward to seeing all sorts of progress on your own aircraft with all
the extra free time. Looking forward to you passing me with that rotary.

Jerry and Joy,
You and Joy have done a wonderful job. I respect your decision if it is
based on financial facts only, but I disagree that the internet has become a more
useful source of info and inspiration than the Tailwind Times. We need both
for a more totally helpful resource. What say we do a poll by internet to
determine how many on this list (& Yahoo) have never seen or known of the Tailwind
Times and its value to builders and owners?
Please keep any refund due me and apply it to the above thought or if not (at
your discretion) apply it to your personal research and pursuit of advances
benefiting the Tailwind design, for current plus future builders.
Regardless, thank you both for having kept up the publication for this long!
Jim

Really hate to see the "Times" come grinding to a halt. I enjoy going back
and reading some issues from the past. Like Luc, I keep them neatly stacked
in their own little place. Also, like Luc, I believe the renewals might be
down only because of the confusing/timing of the bill. Hope you don't really
want to stop publishing...... But if you do, I hope you enjoy your time by
flying your Tailwind all over the place. (Whenever the wind stops blowing,
hahahahaha)
Good Luck
Have Fun,
Weav

I just pulled the first carbon air scoop from the mold
this morning. The air scoop completes the cowling kit
but may be purchased seperatly for $75.00 plus $15.00
shipping. I still need to make a set of wheel pants
this week to complete the shippment to Baraboo, then
I'll be starting on backordered items in the next 2
weeks for those waiting on parts.
