It was a nice plane with a GOOD engine (Cont 0-300D) I spoke to the owner of Whidbey Air Park (where the crash occurred) yesterday afternoon. I neglected to ask explicitly if it was Lou, but he talked as though it was. I can call him back today if there's any doubt. All he knows is that Lou clipped the top of a tree on takeoff, then crashed & burned. He said the airplane was rolled up in a ball. Apparently no one knows anything else at this point, but the feds are looking at the plane to see what they can figure out. -Dan ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 10:11:53 AM PST US From: "Paul Holmes" Subject: Tailwind-List: battery To locate the battery tray and the bottom of the baggage compartment I need a battery size and type recommendation for my O-320 Tailwind. Just a mount tray. I mounted the master soleniod on a small bracket there as well. A 1 amp breaker provides a hot protected hot lead to behind the panel for things that require a voltage input for memory or an electric clock. Vans offers a very light inexpensive battery you might look into as well. ===== BRIAN ALLEY (N320WT) CARBON FIBER COMPOSITES 304-872-7938 shop 304-562-6800 home How are you going to win by a nose if you don't stick out your neck? ________________________________ Message 5 _____________________________________ Time: 12:48:35 PM PST US From: "Bob Conner" Subject: RE: Tailwind-List: battery --> Tailwind-List message posted by: "Bob Conner" I use the lawn garden tractor battery from Wal - Mart. Mine had that cheap one the ACS sells for 38 bucks and it didn't do anything. I Built the one that Tony Bingelis shows on page 93 of his book on engines. Its about 80% better. but still not enough. I even considered putting 2 of them in . Go from to the other. Any suggestions?
