To all who may be interested....I'm beginning construction of a metal wing, C-85
powered, TW that will weigh around 650 empty and will meet the LSA specs. It
will probably be about a year from now to first flight. I will be offering plans.

Earl have you determined if Buttercup will qualify?
To all of you, will a light weight ,low HP Tailwind perhaps with Vortex generators
meet the Sport Pilot rules?
I'm getting tired of spending $1700 for test, submitting them to wait 9 months
for an approval that expires in 3 months.
Just got my special medical 8/18 and it expires 11/30.

Hi Rick,
OK - how should we rope Mr. Clement into providing his expertise to us poor
souls that need his services... should we say that the local RV's are
blowing our doors off or some other such lie ;) ? Ah well, until he
volunteers his
expertise, I'll not whine about it....
A search of the ('scuse me here) RV archives yielded some comments that
confirm Jim's comments about the Sterba prop being a good one to consider,
especially considering the price ! Will let y'all know what eventually
ends up on the nose of 393RC and the performance differences....
Thanks,
Thomas

Thomas: I'd always threatened to fly 3RC up to Baraboo, park in front
of Jim's
hangar and not let him out until he gave the prop a mild reshape!!
Jim is being modest, he can do a much better job for you than Fred
Felix can. Maybe
you can work out something with him to get him to do the shaping and
you
do the finish, or something.

OK. Bill is out of town this weekend but lets start with OCTOBER 16, 2004. If
you can put that date out to see how many are free that weekend.

Chuck:
The first thing to do is to pick a date and place and get the information out.
I have a list of Tailwind owner addresses (though some are probably out of
date now, being a year or more old). I would be happy to mail notices, which
should pick up many of those who do not read the e-mail lists. I suggested sometime
in October with a couple of dates that might be problems. If you and Bill
can settle on a day at FAT, that will work. Then we can go from there. We
won't be able to get everyone, because some are just going to have conflicts
or other plans. The sooner a date is picked the more tailwinds we will have.
I am looking forward to it.

Dave, let Bill and I know the right circumstances and it will be right with
us. Bills time is flexible and I'm retired. As I remember Skip and Wilson were
at our 1st fly-in, and maybe others. It was held at FAT because Steve and
Paula flew in commercial. I have pictures somewhere.

I assume that the fly-in would be at Fresno Chandler (FCH) and not at Fresno Intl.
(FAT). That way, Fred can do his fast fly-bys under the Class C rather than
through it ;
