There is a world of info on these two sites. I, also, am a first time builder and in the beginning stages of building my w10. Each year there is a gathering of Tailwinds @ Baraboo, Wi. The weekend before Oshkosh, This year was the 2nd annual meeting (just a group of guys hanger flying and talking tailwinds, great fun for the builder) Baraboo is "Tailwind central" That is where Jim Clement, "Guru himself" is based, A great innovator and personal friend of Steve Wittman. He is working on tailwind #9 right now. If you opt to build the w10 be sure to include the "Jim Clement Mods". I could babble on for hours about this group but don't want to take up space on this Matronics list, they have rules, Happy building. Alex Frizzell Auburn, Al. I just received my Tailwind wing kit from Bill Scheunemann. I am eager to start work on my Tailwind. This is to be my first build. I have experience from rebuilding a Pitts S2S, and built custom Bill Scheunemann wings for it. I would like to know if there is anyone in the area that has a flying Tailwind. I have never flown in the a/c and would love to know how it flies. Are there any good tech counselors in the area? Thanks for your help, CJ Kirby ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 06:04:26 AM PST US From: dmagaw@att.net Subject: Re: Tailwind-List: Newcomer Hello and welcome. You will really like a tailwind, and if you have flown a pitts, it is a piece of cake comparatively. Just out of curiousity and pardon my ignorance, but who is Bill Scheunemann? Does he produce Tailwind wing kits? If so, how much does a wing kit cost? Thanks Dave Magaw (W-8 and W-10 tailwinds and a Pitts S1S) -------------- Original message from "CJ Kirby Memphis Tailwind" : -------------- > --> Tailwind-List message posted by: "CJ Kirby Memphis Tailwind" > > > Greetings Tailwind gurus, > My name is CJ Kirby from Memphis TN. I live in Hurricane WV and fly out of Ona Airpark 12V. Is your Pitts flying or do you have access to another aircraft? Give me a call if you want to work something out. Maybe meet half way. ===== BRIAN ALLEY (N320WT) CARBON FIBER COMPOSITES 304-872-7938 shop 304-562-6800 home How are you going to win by a nose if you don't stick out your neck?
