I formed a slight recess in the firewall to clear. It is angled at the 11:00 position to clear the tach cable. I would have preferred to hang it straight down but the diagonal tube behind the firewall was in the way. These 90 degree adapters will fit if you have at least the width of a oil filter in back of the original filter housing. Also, the original housing must also be used to make this work. Works good, and is no spill as advertised. With oil and filter, it is a few ounces heavier than the old screen, but very easy to service.
